Pennon Group Brand development

Pennon are a FTSE 250 Utilities Group providing fresh and wastewater services to customers and businesses across the South West. We were briefed to refresh their brand; to develop an engaging and adaptable signature styling that reflects the Group’s core operations, and flexes to keep internal and external comms fresh and on-brand.

An inspirational graphic styling

We wanted the new design to embody and communicate the core focus of the Group – water, the environment and sustainability. We established a bright and contemporary colour palette, inspired by coast and countryside, and an adaptable wave graphic that works in combination to create a visually engaging and flowing signature styling.

Developing a graphic language

We designed a suite of bespoke icons and established a bank of engaging photography to articulate the spirit of the brand. These work sympathetically with the ‘Pennon wave’ and the refreshed colour palette - bringing the brand story and business aspirations to life.

We also engaged the services of a local illustrator to adapt and create bespoke illustrations to convey a sense of place and purpose.









Curating the brand

A fluid and adaptable brand needs to ensure that consistency is maintained. Our comprehensive guidelines provide clear instruction and allow creative licence to empower outside agencies to maintain the integrity of the brand.
