£98 billion

A recent report produced some alarming numbers in relation to the UK's skilled tradespeople, so Kingfisher conducted their own research and decided to launch a campaign to bring this to everyone's attention.

The UK is currently struggling with a shortage of 165,000 tradespeople, increasing to a projected 250,000 by 2030. This equates to a mind-blowing predicted loss of £98bn worth of growth to the UK economy in this 7 year period.

There are a number of issues, the main one being the lack of young talent entering the trade, with schools putting greater emphasis on progressing to higher education. Not only that, but a measly 2% of tradespeople are women. So Kingfishers campaign aims to draw attention to these alarming figures and starts to tackle the problem head-on. So we worked with them to create a series of static and motion graphics to use across all social media platforms and target young people and key decision makers to try and make a positive impact and help close this rather scary trade skills gap.
